This presentation will offer general information on what Amateur Radio is all about, how it can be used when traveling in an RV or a Caravan, communications during emergencies, or chatting around the world for fun. The requirements for obtaining an FCC License and testing will be covered as well as an Q&A session.

| The Amateur Radio club is offering a review session for the FCC exam to obtain your ham radio license. James is a ham radio operator with an Amateur Extra license and has been teaching ham radio license classes for local clubs in the Sacramento area. He’s a professor at California State University, Sacramento. He is the Affiliated Club Coordinator for the Sacramento Valley Section of the Amateur Radio Relay League (ARRL) and a ham radio FCC license volunteer examiner. |

Now that you have your ham license, now what? The most general answer to this question is “find something you are interested in doing with it”.
As an RVer, that is easier to answer: safety on the road or road information as you travel on your journey. Staying in contact with other hams in a caravan is another answer.
