The time changes from Daylight Savings to Standard Time on Sunday, November 6. Does that mean the RV Service Net times are also changing?
The answer to that question is a definitive “maybe.” It depends on if you keep your logs in UTC or local time.
The local start times for the nets will remain the same. For example, standard time zone times for the nets will be:
- Eastern/Central USA and Canada Net: 7:00 – 9:00 a.m. EST
- Rocky Mountain Net: 6:30 – 8:00 MST
- Pacific Coast Net: 9:00 – 10:00 PST
If you live in the world of UTC, the start times for the nets will move:
- Eastern/Central USA and Canada Net: from 11:00 UTC to 12:00 UTC
- Rocky Mountain Net: 12:30 UTC to 13:30 UTC
- Pacific Coast Net: 16:00 UTC to 17:00 UTC
So, the nets will operate at the same local times, but will be an hour later when looking at UTC and that may help you hear more signals during the nets.
