I was just reviewing the recently updated membership roster on the website, and I noted (I actually counted) that 162 members have chosen to receive the newsletter mailed to them via USPS. It costs about $1 a newsletter between printing, postage etc. not to mention the newsletter’s editor’s time, to do this. It comes out twice a year so it costs the club about $332 a year to do it this way.
Now while I realize that some may have a very valid reason to receive it via USPS, I bet many, if not most, it is just an old habit!
You can receive the newsletter via email or, like I do, simply access it on the website. I’ll also bet that some just trash it when it comes without ever reading it or if you do read it and you trash it anyhow!
If this is you, how about changing your subscription to either email or “no newsletter sent” (you can still get it on the website).
To change your preference just go to the website and in the black bar at the top, hover over MEMBERS ONLY. That will open a drilldown and one of the items there gives you the way to change it.
Every penny counts! ;)
