Vern Moseley KB4NZJ Awarded Life Membership

It’s true!  Vern Mosley KB4NZJ has now qualified for Life Membership, which means he gets a nice certificate, our sincere thanks for the years of service, and no longer has to pay annual dues.  The announcement was made June 5 2011 by club president Jim Cocke N5RTG.

The by-laws of the WBCCI Radio Club provide that anyone who has served 30 hours per year as a net controller for five consecutive years, while at the same time being a member in good standing of the club, is eligible for Life Membership.  Vern has been a regularly scheduled net control station for the Eastern 40-meter net since September 2005.  He currently runs the first hour of that net every Saturday morning from 7 to 8 Eastern Time.  He also often fills in as a substitute controller when other NCS must be away from their radios.

Director of Nets Garry Ritchie W8OI called Vern “a truly superb operator who brings an air of friendliness as well as order to the net.”  Garry added, “keeping order comes naturally for Vern because he’s a retired US Air Force Colonel.”

Vern is a resident of Boiling Springs, South Carolina.
